Coloring – Heron

Get Creative With Paint!

Supply List:

  • Printed image
  • Brush
  • Paints (or coloring pens/markers)
  • Water for cleaning brushes

Directions for Caregivers:

Enjoy the sensory experience of painting together.

Don’t be afraid to mix colors to create new shades.

Painting is an excellent group activity.

Encourage mixing of colors to create more shades, and offer the opportunity to do their own drawing if they wish.

Early and middle stage memory care/dementia.

If a person is reluctant to take part, leaving a brush and page in front of them can often lead to the person picking it up and engaging after a while of watching others paint.

Never look for perfection, it’s just for fun!

This is a nice activity as a passive observer if the person is not able to actively participate.
