This is a printable quiz with multiple choice answers (to be used if and when needed). You can stretch this activity further by introducing some reminiscing. If a question is about food, a country etc. have a little chat about it before moving to the next question.
Quizzes don’t have to be competitive, the main objective is to have fun. But, if you want to be more serious about, make teams of equal ability and have a quiz competition.
How you might use this activity:
For Individuals (independent persons), print the quiz sheet and let them do it. Check or give them the answers later.
Along with a caregiver / activity director for the following:
One-on-one activity, If the person has good general knowledge, ask the question first, if they can’t answer, then give them the answer options.
Group activity, if you have different abilities in the group always ask the participants not to answer until all the ABC options are read out. That will give everyone a chance to give their opinion, not just the fast thinkers.
Early stage memory care / dementia, use as for individuals above.
Middle stage memory care / dementia, stress that it is not a competition, encourage guessing of the answer even if they don’t know it. You can also just give two of the three options if you want to make it easier. The objective is inclusive, active participation where nobody feels silly for getting it wrong.
This activity is suitable for both men and women.
