Supply List:

  • Blank greeting card
  • Buttons and star stickers
  • Scissors and glue
  • Felt or paper for the trunk

Card-making is a lovely activity to do together.

Add a cup of tea and have a nice chat while you are creating.

Buttons are a great subject for reminiscing.

A fun activity to make around the table. Most suited to a small group.

Add some reminiscing about buttons to your card-making session. Did you/they keep and re-use buttons? Did you make your own clothes? Get the discussion going.

If some people find the buttons too small to handle, ask them to choose where to put the different ones, and you help to glue them on.

Hint: If you (or the person you are with) are writing a greeting on the finished card, sometimes it is better to write it on a separate piece of paper, cut it out and glue it in. This way, there is no chance of a wrong spelling or other mistake spoils the card.
