Love Yourself

Time for You

About this Activity

When was the Last Time You Devoted Time to Yourself and Just Focused on Your Own Well-being?

I can tell you that much of humanity does not put enough time or energy into their relationship with themselves. In our society, it is sometimes thought that taking care of oneself first is selfish.

I am here to tell you that taking care of yourself first is the OPPOSITE of selfishness. It is the best gift you can share with others. In my life, when I spend time taking care of others first and neglect what is going on within myself, I am not in a great place, and therefore, the people I am around only get a “half massed” Nichole. That is not ideal for anyone involved.

I know it can be tiring taking care of someone else. I have learned this with my 2-year-old daughter. I have also learned that when I let go of myself and cater everything to her, the experience for both of us is unbalanced and doesn’t feel great. When I take time out of each day to focus on myself, whether that means getting exercise, spending time outside, seeing a friend, or just sitting in peace and quiet for a little while, I feel fulfilled. Then when I go back to my daughter, I am a happy Nichole, and she feeds off of that. Our time together is much more positive and full of love.

Taking time out to do something for yourself is the same as telling yourself, “I love me.” When you have self-love radiating out of you, everyone else is positively impacted as well.

More love in the world starts with each person loving themselves first.

You are beautiful, and you deserve all of the love in the world.
