Engaging in number and math challenges can benefit individuals with dementia.
Math challenges provide mental stimulation and help maintain cognitive functions such as memory, reasoning, and problem-solving.
Additionally, math activities often involve social interaction, whether in groups or with family, contributing to emotional well-being. The focus required for even simple math tasks can improve attention span and concentration, helping to preserve these skills over time.
Completing math-related tasks also provides a sense of accomplishment, enhancing self-esteem and overall happiness.
Incorporating number and math activities into the daily lives of those with dementia can help improve their quality of life by keeping their minds active and engaged.
Be mindful of presenting activities that are within the person's cognitive ability level.

Due to current circumstances that we’re facing today, it’s been challenging trying to find ways to keep our seniors active and healthy. For example, the majority of everything we’re doing is done online. However, not all seniors have and/or know how to work the internet. Coming up with small but effective take-home crafts has been my focus. However, I was able to share different things like the scenic videos that were so relaxing and beautiful to look at. Maria’s Place has helped tremendously! Kudos to you Maria!
