Supply List:

  • Printed image
  • Brush
  • Paints (or coloring pens/markers)
  • Water for cleaning brushes

Directions for Caregivers:

Paint together and make it a nice social session with lots of chat.

Painting is an excellent group activity.

Encourage the participants to draw their own pictures too.

Early and middle stage memory care/dementia.

There is no wrong way to paint, any colors and any way of painting is good, it’s all about taking part.

If a person is reluctant to take part, leaving a brush and page in front of them can often lead to the person picking it up and engaging after a while of watching others paint.

Painting is a nice activity as a passive observer if the person is not able to participate actively.

Hint: Don’t forget to paint the background.

It will really lift the look of the finished picture.
