Coloring is a fun group activity. Encourage mixing colors for new shades.
Ask if anyone would like to draw their own flower picture.
Early and middle-stage memory care/dementia.
Supply materials, explain how to use/mix paints. Be on hand to offer support if needed.
If a person is reluctant to take part, leaving a brush and page in front of them can often lead to the person picking it up and engaging after a while of watching others paint.
Late-stage memory care/dementia.
Use hand over hand assistance if this is possible.
Watching others paint is a nice activity as a passive observer if the person is not able for active participation.
