Coloring – Tulips

Brighten Your Home with Flower Pictures.

Supply List:

  • Printed image
  • Brush
  • Paints (or coloring pens/markers)
  • Water for cleaning brushes

Directions for Caregivers:

Engage socially, and paint together. What is your favorite color of tulip?

Coloring is a fun group activity. Encourage mixing colors for new shades.

Ask if anyone would like to draw their own flower picture.

Early and middle-stage memory care/dementia.

Supply materials, explain how to use/mix paints. Be on hand to offer support if needed.

If a person is reluctant to take part, leaving a brush and page in front of them can often lead to the person picking it up and engaging after a while of watching others paint.

Late-stage memory care/dementia.

Use hand over hand assistance if this is possible.

Watching others paint is a nice activity as a passive observer if the person is not able for active participation.
