Time for You

Sometimes the chaos of life is such that we are going through the motions daily and forgetting to stop for a moment of beautiful, serene quiet to re-center and balance ourselves. Everyone has time for this - it could be just 5 minutes out of your day.

This fall, I lived life on overdrive and just doing, doing, doing all day, every day. I didn’t even think about anything except getting everything done. The magic of life seemed to dissipate a little because I was just too busy all the time. In the last month or so, I have been making a point just to take a moment to be present every day. For me, that means waking up before the sun, sitting in my comfy chair with a cup of tea, and just noticing the stars and the sunrise. The whole house is quiet; I can just be and notice the beauty around me for these quiet moments of the day. The rest of my day seems to go a lot better when I take the time to do this.

The best way to have a quiet moment is to notice where you are in any moment. Look around you - appreciate your surroundings. Pamper yourself with something that makes you feel good, like looking outside to nature, a great cup of warming tea, whatever suits you.

It is so important to slow down in life, even if just for a few minutes, and come back to YOU.

As Ester Buchholz puts it: “Others inspire us, information feeds us, practice improves our performance, but we need quiet time to figure things out, to emerge with new discoveries, to unearth original answers.”

Here’s to finding some quiet moments in your day,
