Let it Go

Letting Go

It seems so simple at first, doesn’t it? Then something happens in life, and you hold on to it and have a really difficult time letting it go. Someone did something to you, said something you didn’t like, or things aren’t going the way you want them to. When it comes down to it, and we are in the moment, we often don’t get out of our heads enough to be able to let go easily.

Holding on to issues that don’t serve us or give us a pit in our stomachs when we think about it is not doing us any favors. When we hold on, we literally start getting sick. All of the issues we are holding on to build up inside of us until we just can’t take it anymore. At this point, it has to come out somehow- in the form of being exhausted, getting sick, or just not feeling good. We get to a place where we can’t even appreciate the beautiful little moments in life anymore. I, for one, would rather forego all of this prolonged heartache and pain. Most people probably would rather feel good (just guessing here).

I have good news! It’s actually not that hard. We just have to get out of our heads about it and realize that we can let it go. It really is that simple. Just let it all go. Do it for your own sake, for your own health, for your own wellbeing. No one chooses what you hold on to except you.

I had my first epiphany about this after reading “The Untethered Soul” by Michael Singer. Then I tested it when someone said something that normally would have ruined my day and the following days. I felt the familiar feeling of being hurt and then almost immediately remembered that I did not need to hold on to it, and I could just let it go. So I told myself just to let it go. And magic happened- it went away, and I went on being happy the rest of the day. I was even happier than normal because I realized that it was that easy, it was very exciting!

Just try it and see what happens.

Wishing you lots of happiness!
