Early and middle-stage memory care/dementia.

Supply materials, explain how to use/mix paints and be on hand to offer support if needed.

If a person is reluctant to take part, leaving a brush and page in front of them can often lead to the person picking it up and engaging after a while of watching others paint.

Late-stage memory care/dementia.

Use hand over hand assistance if this is possible.

Watching others paint is a nice activity as a passive observer if the person is not able to participate actively.

About this Activity

It can help you relax and reduce stress while providing a feeling of accomplishment through the artwork you create.

Hint: Don’t forget to paint the background. It will really lift the look of the finished picture.
