Finding a passion
Passion – there are many definitions for the word passion, one of them is: “A strong affection or enthusiasm for an object, concept etc.”
I believe that everyone should have a passion that holds value and importance just for them. Something that takes you out of your normal routine, something you look forward to and something that you choose to do. You might do it on your own or maybe it involves other people or animals.
I know people that go weak at the knees at the sight of a dog or a horse, some go fishing, others knit or collect stamps. It might be a sport like football or tennis. Maybe you don’t even play the sport yourself but get pleasure from following a team and their progress.
My co-worker Nichole, among other things, gets excited every time she confronts a spreadsheet! Lucky for us in Maria’s Place!
For myself, I enjoy a lot of creative pursuits. Photography is my passion, and with Maria’s Place I get to combine it with work as well! Most of the images in the website and in the newsletters are mine and it gives me pleasure to be able to share this with others. There is something about the colors in nature that really talks to me.
You might have a think this week:
Are you so set in a routine that you just don’t think about what you could add to your life. What makes you tick? What would you like to do if you had the chance? Maybe you would like to learn something new? Join a group and meet new people? Take an hour every now and then and read a book or go out for a favorite meal?
It is up to you to find a passion and make it happen.
