Hugs

Touch Speaks Volumes

About this Activity

I Came Across This Quote the Other Day, and it Caught my Eye.

“Hugging is the most beautiful form of communication that allows the other person to know beyond a doubt that they matter” - Zane Baker.

I love this- it seems so true. Not only hugging, but touch. As humans, touch is such an important part of life. Can you imagine going through your entire life and no one ever touching you in any way at all? As humans, we need to experience human touch. It keeps us all connected, and it helps us feel good.

We have found, especially in the nursing home, that the simple act of massaging someone’s hand, giving them a hug, or even just putting a hand on someone’s shoulder for a moment, can mean the world to that person and help them feel a sense of belonging and love.

Touch speaks volumes. No words are even necessary.

Just something to reflect on.
